Infection Control and Performance Improvement

The Infection Control Department of Franklin Medical Center is dedicated to the prevention and management of hospital acquired infections in our staff, patients, and visitors through communication, education and leadership and thereby contributing to high quality patient care.

Our Infection Control Practitioner is responsible for establishing an effective infection control program, in order to improve patient care practices through on going education communication and surveillance. This includes but is not limited to:

	Maintaining a current knowledge of hospital standards regarding infection control
	Ensuring all employees receive proper infection control training and current information
	Maintain awareness of current hospital infection control practices by attending educational programs
	Coordinates hospital wide surveillance for detection of infection control issues
	Employee health m9nitoring
	Monitors the medical waste management; hospital construction and environmental issues related to infection control
	Monitors cultures and monthly infection control statistics
