POSITION:                               INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY TECHNICIAN

 

DEPARTMENT:                       INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

 

FLSA STATUS:                         NON-EXEMPT

 

JOB SUMMARY:                      The primary purpose of this job is to maintain and support the computer network, systems and applications at                                                         this facility.

JOB RELATIONSHIP:

 

Responsible to:  Information Technology Director

Positions Directly Supervised:  None

Regular Contact with:  All department of hospital

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:

 

  • To provide assistance with information technology related problems to all departments of this facility
  • Monitor and maintain a secure network environment
  • Possesses experience in client/server or centralized environments
  • To install, setup, and maintain new computers, faxes, copiers, and scanners
  • Maintain (patches, updates, and fixes) software used on desktop systems including OS, anti-virus, and malware protection
  • To assist in the upgrading of information technology equipment according to growth and need of the facility
  • Maintain inventory of all computers and other information technology equipment
  • Handles ordering of parts and supplies for hardware repairs. Repairs and updates hardware as needed
  • Performs on call duties in rotation for department
  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
  • Performs other duties as needed

 

 

 

QUALIFICATION:

Education and Training:  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems or Computer Science (Preferred).

Work Experience:  2 years directly related experience (Preferred)

Requirements:    

  • Proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position
  • Must have ability to solve problems and work independently
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow step-by-step instructions with accuracy
  • In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
  • Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills

 

Physical Requirements:  Must be able to read, write, speak and hear the English language clearly.  Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.  Must be able to sit, stand, and move intermittently throughout the day.  Must function independently, have personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with patients and personnel.

 

OSHA EXPOSURE CATEGORY:   A      Employees in this job classification have occasional exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
