Job Information | JOB SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this job is to maintain the facility and its equipment in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with established procedures, and as directed by your supervisor, to assure that a successful, viable maintenance program is maintained at all times.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS: Responsible to the Chief Engineer Positions Directly Supervised: None Regular Contact with all departments in the hospital

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. The Engineer may perform other duties both major and minor, that are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Training: Must possess, as a minimum, a 10th grade education. Must possess a valid unrestricted driver’s license.
Work Experience: None required. On the job training provided.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Must be able to read, write, speak, and hear the English language clearly. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, patients, visitors, and the general public. Must be knowledgeable of safe maintenance practices, procedures and guidelines. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, and move intermittently during working hours. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position. Must possess sight and hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately. Must be able to work beyond normal working hours, in cramped spaces, and in adverse weather conditions. Required to be on-call for emergency conditions or situations. Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
