Dr. Antti Maran has served our region as a pulmonologist and critical care physician for over thirty years.
Having completed his undergraduate studies in chemistry, Dr. Maran went on to medical school at Northwestern University in Illinois and later completed his residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He then served in the Army as a Pulmonary/Critical Care physician and Chief of multiple teams; including Search/Rescue and Nuclear/Biological/Chemical Warfare.
Following his military career, Dr. Maran began his pulmonology/critical care practice in the Monroe area and is currently a member of the St. Francis Medical Group. In this capacity, he holds a number of leadership positions, including that of Chief Medical Information Officer for the medical group as well as St Francis Medical Center. Dr. Maran also serves as a reserve deputy for the Ouachita Parish Sheriff Department SWAT unit.
Dr. Maran and his nurse practitioner, Ms. Debra Barker, NFP of Fort Necessity, provide a pulmonary clinic for our community at the Franklin Medical Center campus weekly. Dr. Maran is on site the first Monday of each month, and Ms. Debra Barker maintains his clinic every Wednesday.
