Franklin Parish native Dr. Gary Baskin has agreed to return to his home parish as an ER physician for Franklin Medical Center. Currently in his Emergency Medicine residency at St. John’s Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Baskin will be wholly devoted to providing the best in critical and emergency care to our patients starting next summer.
With an emergency room that sees almost 10,000 encounters a year, Franklin Medical Center has one of the busiest rural ERs in Louisiana. As a result, the recruitment of top-flight physicians for ER duty is one of the most significant decisions our hospital can make, not to mention the importance of bringing our hometown residents back to the community. This marks a tremendous achievement for our hospital and Franklin Parish.
